Biking
I love to bike!

I have been an avid cyclist since I moved to Victoria in 1980. Starting off as a mountain biker, I took up track cycling after being inspired by the 1998 World Cup and more recently have become a roadie. I can be seen riding at the crack of dawn with the Tripleshot Cycling Club or riding the trails at the CRD Hartland Mountain Bike Park . In 2012 I started ultracycling, and have completed several 200 and 300km distance events.

Boating
I love the ocean!

A love of the ocean is a continued theme in my life. In the 1980's I worked as a commercial fisherman on first the East and then the West Coast, followed by a career with the Coast Guard and Department of Fisheries. I can often be seen with my family boat camping in the magnificent Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound, or on day trips to the Discovery Island Marine Park.

Skiing
I love to ski!

Over the past few years my family has spent many a day flying down the slopes at Mount Washington Alpine resort. The kids are amazing skiers. Last year we ventured to Whistler outside of Vancouver and Crystal Mountain in Northern Washington. It is a truly fantastic family activity that I hope to continue for years to come.
