About Victoria
Victoria is located on the west coast of British Columbia Canada, more specifically, Southern Vancouver Island. If you are in the market for property, the Greater Victoria area offers a wide and diverse range of properties. The City of Victoria is one of thirteen municipalities of the Capital Regional District (CRD) which covers over 2,400 square kilometres stretching from Sooke to Galiano Island. The CRD is a regional government that serves four electoral areas as well as the thirteen municipalities. These local governments work together through the CRD to provide and coordinate services in both urban and rural areas. According to the 2006 census, about 345,000 people make their home in the Greater Victoria area. The population has increased from 148,000 in 1961 and is expected to approach 400,000 by the year 2020.
